A New Era of Sports Banners https://www.bkbtesting.com/2018/02/13/a-new-era-of-sports-banners/ Tue, 13 Feb 2018 18:05:30 +0000 http://clients.bkbdesigngroup.com/bkbdesign/?p=3479 When my son started team sports two years ago, I soon realized that most of the banners out there were BAD. Luckily for me, I had the skills to do something about it for our team. Then, it dawned on me — Why not offer them to other local teams? And what started as a small group order for neighborhood teams, has turned into my biggest seller in my Etsy shop. I have probably designed close to 100 banners in the past year, and here are a few of my favorites. What can I design for you?

A Frozen Party Fit for a Princess https://www.bkbtesting.com/2018/02/13/a-frozen-party-fit-for-a-princess/ Tue, 13 Feb 2018 00:29:45 +0000 http://clients.bkbdesigngroup.com/bkbdesign/?p=3468 For those of you who know me, you know I go BIG for my kids parties. Part of it is the joy I see on their faces when I bring their favorite things to life. But I must admit, I really do love party planning. And I want to share that love with you all.

This past weekend, we threw an amazing Frozen themed party for my 3 year old daughter Sarah. Honestly, when she picked the theme, I wasn’t really all that excited. But as I sat down to make my Frozen Pinterest board (which I do and highly recommend doing for every party), I realized this could be one beautiful party. Shades of Tiffany blue, white and silver, oh my!

The focal point of all my parties is the sweets table. This is where the magic begins. It might seem overwhelming, but I’ve developed a formula–the basic elements–and apply it to every party. It makes it much easier than starting from scratch every time.

  • Table Covering. I tend to go visually “simple” on the table covering, so the sweets display doesn’t get lost. In this case, I chose an inexpensive silver sequined table cloth with a turquoise runner for some contrast.
  • Sweet Table Backdrop. Sometimes, it’s a literal backdrop, as pictured here. Other times, it’s crepe paper, ribbons, or other things. This backdrop I designed (and I’m happy to design one for you, too! In any theme…just head on over to my Etsy shop.)
  • Cake/cake stand. I’m a sucker for a pretty cake stand, and I usually end up getting a new one for every party (and then I sell them afterwards! After all, who has room to store so many cake stands?). But this one was so pretty, I think I’ll hang on to it. My talented friend made the cake itself, and I embellished it with fondant snowflakes, rock candy sticks, and Disney Frozen figurines. Made for one gorgeous

  • Cupcake display. These are a lot of fun, too! Sometimes I scour thrift shops and make my own tiered displays. I’ve even built cupcake stands out of legos! (More on the Lego party another time, I promise.) But this time, I wanted the cupcakes themselves to be the star, so I opted for a simple clear acrylic three tiered stand.
